The 2022-23 Boston Celtics season was the franchise's 77th season in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Celtics finished the regular season with a 55-27 record, which was the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics lost to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals in seven games.
The Celtics were led by Jayson Tatum, who averaged 30.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. Tatum was named to the All-NBA First Team and was also named the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for January.
The Celtics also had strong seasons from Jaylen Brown, who averaged 25.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game, and Marcus Smart, who averaged 11.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game. Smart was named to the All-Defensive First Team.
